Welcome to the Whimsical Wanderer blog about teaching adventures and more!
So here's a little bit about me....
--I grew up in Mansfield, Texas. I was super involved with school (student council, Senior Class Officer, Prom Chair, etc!), played softball like it was going outta style, and I graduated in the top 10% of my 2006 high school class.
--After high school, I spent four amazing years in Austin, Texas attending the University of Texas at Austin. I was a Radio-Television-Film major for all four years of college--at the beginning, I set out to study set designing for films. I had great experiences working on undergrad and grad student film sets with amazing people. However, as I followed the course of my film studies, I began to focus more on the media studies aspect mixed the cultural representations. So I picked up a minor in U.S. Latino & Latin American Media Studies--where I took classes on different racial representations within various cultures but specifically within the Latino and Hispanic community. It was an amazing program and I forever became a student of cultures from that point on! I graduated as part of the 2010 class.
--During my college stint, I also had a wonderful time interning as a member of the photography and editorial team for a girls' webzine named HerCampus. I interned for the UT addition which was a satellite from the original Harvard branch.
--I have a passion for sweet tea, summer days, riding my bicycle, playing with my pup, folk music, watching French movies, sunflowers, anything Paris, architecture, old towns, reading, history, family, friends, and laughing!
--Besides teaching and my after school teaching, I pursue a passion in photography and paper crafting....both of which can be viewed here....
